Hi all! By now we've finished several chapters of our book. What do you think about what's been going on so far? How are you feeling about the characters? What do you think might happen next? How do you feel about the author's descriptions and the way she's set up the plot and conflicts so far?
Consider any of these questions, OR write your own opinions, comments, and open-ended questions.
Remember to check back frequently. We had some technical difficulties the first week, so hopefully we're able to get more posts accomplished this time around.

ReplyDeleteI also think that Moose needs to be normal around girls. I thought he played baseball very well, too.
I don't like the fact that Teresa kept Jimmy a secret from Moose.
I don't like how Piper said the convicts play baseball. I thought it was a lie.

I really like the book so far, what do you think about the book so far? Did you now that piper had a sister? Who were the people moose played? What part do you think is the most important part in the book?
ReplyDeleteI think Natile should go out of that school and go back home. She doesn't really get the play or what ever she did. That is why I think she should not be there. Do you think she should be at that school?
ReplyDeleteHow do you feel about Moose’s mom pushing Cam, and then yelling at him? What do you think is going to happen to Natalie now that she has to go back to their home? Do you think Natalie will end up in a different school or do you think she will get better at home talk to Moose, her mom, and her dad? I think Natalie will become better beginning home with her family and she will allow Moose to hold her hand. Also I think that Moose might be mad at his mom if she sends Natalie to another school.
ReplyDeleteI think moose’s mom Helen is very worried about Natalie but I think she needs to get a grip, accept that Natalie is different, and that Natalie needs to GROW up. Helen just needs to accept that Natalie is different. What do you think needs to happen to Natalie.
ReplyDeleteI think that moose’s dad is slightly depressed, I feel bad for him. I think he is sacrificing a lot for his children. There is not a lot of things in the world that I respect more than going through all of that and have time to keep his family decently happy. What do you think about moose’s dad? Do you think there situation is going to get better?

ReplyDeleteI feel that Moose’s mom is not very good at handling difficult situations. She totally freaked out at Moose’s dad when he told her that they had to go get Natalie. She blew it way out of proportion, just like Moose said she had every other time that what she had tried failed. I mean, yeah Natalie needs help, but she is kind of ignoring Moose, or putting him after Natalie. She puts too much faith in these trial and error things. I think that it would go better if she realized that these things may not work, so she wouldn’t get so disappointed. Moose handled it very well, as did his father. How do you think Moose’s Mom and Dad handled it??
ReplyDeleteMoose’s parents need to learn to handle this better. Moose’s dad (Cam) should’ve taken work off to go with Helen to get Natalie. Helen was a little too out of control when they went to get her. I think Helen has gone through a lot of stress from Natalie and she has a lot of confidence in her. Do you think Moose is handling this better than his parents? Why, or Why not?
ReplyDeleteI think that moose`s mom always gets her way. And she gets in fights with everyone and she will get nattily in the Esther P. Marinoff. Then nattily will get over her beads. She will not worry about then again. I would not live with my mom if she pushed my dad and then got in a fight with him. I don’t think moose`s dad got mad at the mom and then they got in the fight

I think Moose’s mom is doing the right thing on not giving up on Natalie. I think Moose’s dad doesn’t do a lot to help Natalie and her disability. I don’t think Mr. Purdy is being fair, because Natalie has a little worse than probably anybody else at the school. If he was mentally challenged like Natalie, I think he would think its fair for him to stay there. Do you think Mr. Purdy is being fair?
ReplyDeleteI think Moose’s mom, Helen is right about how the Ester P. Marinoff only had Natile for one day and they think she doesn’t belong. Why it think that because usually a lot of people have problems and they scream it’s probably not just Natile that screams. Also they probably did something to her to make her scream. I think that Moose’s dad should stand up for himself because it wasn’t right for her to push him into the door.

Hey Thea, I totally agree with you. I think that the mom shouldn't have pushed the dad out the door, but i am sure that Natalie had something to do with it. She does have a bit of a temper. What do you think about Moose? Do you think he is gonna miss Natalie?

ReplyDeleteTanner I agree with you I don't think Mr. Purdy is being fair. He should at least give her another day. I think part of the reason is she dosen't have her blanket. I think he would be mad if he was in Natile's positon if he couldn't stay there. What would you feel like if you were is Natile's position?
ReplyDeleteI think that maybe Natalie is not doing very well because she does not have her blanket. Maybe the school should let them take her the blanket. I do not think that the school should just make her leave the school. I do not think that they should have taken her buttons away. That is the only reason she started screaming. I do not think that it is polite to do that. And I do not think that her mom should have pushed the dad out the door. I think that was very rude.
ReplyDeleteI think that when Piper said that when the convicts play ball that shes telling the truth. I think that later on in the book, the convicts play ball, that they will hit the ball over the fence and Moose will get it. Then maybe Natalie will like the ball and want it. If she wants it and Moose says no, Natalie and Moose will get in a big fight. Then maybe Moose will get grounded and not be able to stay after school and play ball with the boys.

Then I think that when she is back home that her mom would be happy too! Do you think that the book is very good or do you think that the book is not very interesting? I like the book so far. I think that was mean to take Natilie's buttons and send her home because they took them from her. It's not her fault she screamed at five fifteen in the morning. I would feel bad if someone took some thing I loved.I would probably scream too.

ReplyDeleteI think the people at Ester P. Marinoff should give Natelie her buttons back. I think they just gave up on her when they should just toughen up.
I really don't think Natelie is that messed up. I think she might be able to go to a regular school. She may not be the best consentrator, but she is really smart with things that involve numbers.
If Natelie does get kicked out of Ester P. Marrinoff, where do think she'll go to school.
I think that this new project will get moose in trouble, but not piper.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you--I think Natalie's mom is doing everything she can to help Natalie. Her mom just wants to do what she thinks is best for her kid. I think Natalie was having a hard time being away from home and not having her purple blanket--it's like a security thing. How would the people at the school even know so quickly if Natalie would do well at their school shen she was there for only a day and a half? Do you think Mr. Purdy seems to give up on Natalie really easily and maybe doesn't understand her well enough? Do you think it's better for Natalie to just stay at home or do you think she would be better off in a different school?

ReplyDeleteI think that the whole laundry thing is a completey horible and absolutley bogus. I mean, Moose will most likely get busted for it and Piper will just be all smiles and say to her daddy " I tried to stop them..." blah blah blah... Piper has her dad wrapped around his little finger...I wish that they would get her in trouble. Have some rock solid proof that she started it. Other wise Moose might as well kiss his dad's job good bye!!!

ReplyDeleteKris, I do like the book, but at first I thought it would be boring, but the book did get interesting. I think the way things are going with Natalie I don’t think she’ll be able to get to go back to the school she was in, because when Natalie’s mom got the number and called that one lady she said that Natalie would have to give up her buttons, so I don’t think Natalie will get to go because without her buttons I think Natalie will have a big fit, because she does have her buttons. What do you think?

Also at the rate that Natalie is going without her buttons I don’t think she will be able to go back to school. The one part that I like about the book right now is Piper’s laundry plan. Do you think that Piper might get caught?

I bet if Piper's dad knew how she really acts she would be sent to Al Capone for being a pro brat. I think Moose's mom is being unresonable. Natalie is a big girl and she needs to get used to her disability. She should be able to stay home alone until her mom gets home from piano lessons. Moose should not have to take her everywhere. I have a little brother, and if I had to take him everywhere I'd rather not go anywhere. Do you know what Natalie's diabiliy is?

I can not belive that they got in trobble over do the hole clothes thing. It was so not fair how piper did not get in trobble for any of it she had the biggest part of it. It just made me mad.
